Name: Dawn Granger
Door: Left "I'm holding on."

Canon: Titans (DCU)
Canon Point: End of Season Two.

Age: 31
Appearance: One & Two

History: Dawn Granger @ Titans Wiki
Personality:
+CARING+
By nature, Dawn Granger is a kind, caring woman. While this doesn’t mean she’s entirely selfless, she does often put the needs of others before her own needs. When Dick shows up at her door with Rachel, after nearly five years of radio silence between them, she opens her home to them, allowing them to stay for what she believes will be a temporary stay. In that time, she sees that Rachel is a young woman who’s hurting and immediately seeks to bond with her, offering a friendship that isn’t adult-to-child but peer-to-peer. Nearly her entire relationship with Hank is one of caring and concern. It’s for Hank that she commits her first act of vigilantism, sans a mask and suit. She helps him through his addictions, picking him up when he falls. She’s the type of person who would give a person in true need the shirt off her back if she has to.
-VENGEFUL-
But for as much as she appears to be a pure, kind, and gentle soul, there’s a vengeful streak buried within her. Growing up, her father was abusive towards her, her mother, and her younger sister. Rather than seeking a way out, rather than searching for a safe haven, she sought to fight back. Using her newly trained skills in martial arts, a teenaged Dawn broke her father’s arm badly enough for him to think twice about raising a hand to her family—at least, until she left home to pursue a career in ballet. Years later, she seeks out the coach who molested her (new) friend as a child, with the intent of enacting her own sense of justice. When said friend Hank comes to finish the man off, she refuses his instruction to leave, instead standing by to watch him die. Her work as a vigilante is sometimes vengeance for others cloaking in the mantle of justice. And after the death of her Titans teammate Garth, it’s her drive for vengeance that, in part, encourages Dick and the other Titans to go down a dark path.
-INABILITY TO LET GO OF THE PAST-
Dawn shows great reluctance and even an inability to let go of the past. When discussing her mother’s continued relationship with her father, she becomes angry, citing his past behavior and her wish to have broken both of the man’s arms. Even before becoming a vigilante, she wanted to go further, to exact more than just justice while still momentarily living in that anger. Five years after the Titans separated, she still fondly remembers being around Dick, fighting side-by-side with him, losing herself in the memory. And even after three and a half years in a serious relationship with Hank, she still carries a torch for Dick, memories of her relationship with the former Robin being the first thing Rachel senses in meeting and touching the woman. Meaning those memories were still very much on her mind. Her pattern of adult relationships reflects this inability; she goes from Hank to Dick and then back to Hank, returning to something comfortable and familiar. Others even pick up on this trait in her: for all of their romantic relationship with Dick, he believes himself only a rebound, a soft landing spot after breaking up with Hank. She also can’t let go off the events surrounding the dissolution of the first Titans team, threatening to burn the Tower down if Dick doesn’t shut the second incarnation of the team down.
-ENABLING-
In caring for other people, Dawn’s behavior often turns to enabling. She loses sight of the line between the two and often doesn’t even realize that she’s crossing it. This is seen often in her relationship with Hank. She gives him the motivation to become Hawk again, after his brother’s death. She gives him the opportunity by offering to become his partner and take up the mantle of Dove. While aware of Hank’s addictive nature, she gives him the allowance and opportunity to fall off the wagon; when he’s soaking after a fight, she finds him with a beer. He’s initially somewhat contrite, while she’s permissive, taking a drink from the can before leaving him with it. There’s alcohol in the house they share. Despite insisting the she and Hank leave “the life,” she keeps allowing him to ask for one more job, one more big score. She also enables Dick in certain ways. Her care for Rachel gives him a sign that he could possibly leave the girl there. Knowing how he was raised, and likely the only way he knows to raise others, she enables him to restart the Titans by letting him take the kids to the Tower, while she and Hank retreat to Wyoming.
Powers and Abilities:
PEAK PHYSICAL CONDITION
Dawn has worked as a costumed vigilante for nearly ten years. The training she puts herself through has honed her body into peak human condition, with remarkable agility and grace and lightning fast reflexes. She’s one of the smallest Titans, and yet, she’s able to hold her own against her opponents, likely because she trains with men who are larger and stronger than her. Her durability and endurance are well above the average human’s, considering that she survives being thrown off the roof of a building. Her physical conditioning allows her to recover from most injuries very quickly, but not at a superhuman rate.
EXPERT COMBATANT
Even before becoming a vigilante, Dawn exhibited expert combat skills, having taken at least seven years of jiu-jitsu to learn how to defend herself, her mother and her sister from her abusive father. While not explicitly stated, it can be safely concluded that her skills have increased since becoming Dove. She’s shown impressed skill with close quarters combat.
EXPERT ACROBAT AND DANCER
Dawn has trained for at least seven years in gymnastics and dance. Her ballet skills were impressive enough for her to make a career as a professional ballerina, dancing lead roles in shows. Both disciplines have helped her develop her reflexes and agility.
STRATEGIST
When Hawk and Dove were operating alone, she was shown to be the one who developed the plans for their fights, processing gathered intel to build plans.
